The Super Eagles camp would open on October 3 for preparations for the Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier against Zambia slated to hold in Ndola six days later.
The game is Super Eagles' first game of the group phase, which will also see Nigeria meeting Cameroun and Algeria on a home and away basis.
Super Eagles' Media Officer, Toyin Ibitoye, told The Guardian yesterday that the team's Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, is expected to release the list of the players for the match before the end of the month, adding that the German's squad would be mainly players from the last AFCON game against Tanzania in Uyo.
Ibitoye said the only additions were likely to be Arsenal forward, Alex Iwobi and Portugal-based Oghenekaro Etebo, who did not participate in the Tanzania game because of injuries.
"The Eagles camp for the World Cup qualifier would open in Abuja and the coach has already mapped out strategies to win the opening game. Most of Nigeria's players are in top form in their various clubs, which delights the coach, as it would ensure we have a team that would give Zambia a good fight," he said.
Meanwhile, Rohr is set to meet with Nigeria's former captain, Vincent Enyeama, with a view to convincing him to return to the national team.
After the last match against Tanzania in Uyo, Rohr hinted that he would try to get Enyeama and Turkey-based striker, Emmanuel Emenike, to return to the national team, saying that the country needed all its bets legs for the World Cup qualifiers.
However, Chidozie Awaziem and Imoh Ezekiel, who did not make the match-day squad for the Tanzania game, are not likely to be invited.
Awaziem, a midfielder, who has been converted to central defence, has been demoted to the FC Porto second team this season. The Portuguese club did not register him for the UEFA Champions League.
